Peaking out from under the blanket!

Here it is…my first post!  After contemplating this decision for years, I’m finally taking the plunge into the ‘blogging’ world.  As exciting as it is, it is also nerve wrecking!  What to write about?  Are people really interested in what I have to say or talk about?  Well there’s only one way to find out, so here it goes.

Before I begin, let me tell you a little about who I am ….. 30 minutes later … It’s funny, you’d think that writing an introductory post would be easy…but for some strange reason, I find myself staring at the blinking cursor.  Taunting me, forcing me to analyze myself and put words to who I am.  And yet here I am, still typing, unable to ‘define’ myself in a paragraph.

So let’s keep it simple.  My name is Romessa.  I am married, a teacher and a first-time mom.  These titles don’t define me, but they are all facets of who I am today.  People are always asking me for my advice and perspective, and for years I have been asked to start a blog.  Now that I am on maternity leave, I find myself with all this extra time on my hands….well that is when, I’m not feeding, changing diapers or trying to get a quick power nap in, but you get the picture. I have the opportunity to share my thoughts and interests on being a new mom, food, DIY hacks and anything else that may tickle my fancy.

So here it goes – I’m the girl next door who is a true epicurean at heart.  Like many people, I am still trying to figure out this thing that everyone calls life.  I’m classy, sassy and a bit smart assy.  Let my journey begin.
