Mama Earth Organics – $10 off!

So if you follow me on Instagram, it’s no secret that I’m a farmers market addict and veggie lover.  During our ever so short growing season here in Ontario, I make it my mission to shop my local FM at least once a week and get my fix in before the season is done.  But now, thanks to Mama Earth Organics, I get to enjoy fresh, organic and GMO free produce delivered to my door each and every week! Mama Earth Organics

Mama Earth OrganicsBefore I go on, let me just give you a quick rundown on Mama Earth Organics.  Heather & Alex Billingsley started this company back in 2007 so that they could get a hold of organic produce straight from their local farmers.  Their goal was and still is to provide a service where local farmers are able to sell their organic items at a fair price.  They believe in supporting local farmers and small businesses as a way to improve Toronto’s food system.  By supporting our local economy, they are helping put money back into small businesses and not in the hands of conglomerate grocery stores where most of the food is mass produced.

Last year when I was reading Jessica Alba’s The Honest Life, she mentioned joining a CSA service so that you can enjoy fresh, organic produce and help support local farmers as well.  I loved the idea and started to look into options but never signed up and sort of forgot about it (baby brain kicked in – out of sight out of mind🙈).  But then a few weeks ago, there was a flyer from Mama Earth Organics in the mail saying that they were servicing my neighbourhood and my excitement returned 😄.

The very next day I signed up and a few days later received a beautiful bin of organic produce.  What I love about their service is that you’re able to choose from a variety of packages that they offer based on what will suit your family.  You have the choice of receiving your basket weekly, bi-weekly or even skip a week.  There’s no delivery charge and you also have access to several Toronto artisan businesses who make organic breads, cheeses, farm fresh eggs, spreads and much more.   Mama Earth OrganicsThe program is super simple.  When you sign up they will email you what the upcoming basket will include and you are able to customize it up until 10am the day before your order arrives.  Your credit card is charged on the day of delivery and all you have to do is leave your old bin on outside and they’ll replace it with your new one.

Even though I’ve only used the program for a few weeks now, I am in love.  If you’re someone who enjoys cooking with fresh organic produce and want the convenience of it literally showing up on your doorstep, I highly recommend checking them out.  I love that I can sit with Baby Z and expose him to beautiful fresh food.  We open the bin together and he loves digging in and exploring all of the colours and textures.  It really gives me the opportunity to teach him how to appreciate food.  It also allows me to try new veggies that I may not think of buying while at the store – and don’t worry, each order comes with a few recipes to help you make the most of your basket!

For our family, I order the regular bin which is $40 and it’s perfect for us.  Everything is fresh and ready to go.

If you’re thinking of making a change towards healthier lifestyle, signing up will help you get one step closer.  I’ve contacted Mama Earth Organics and they’ve agreed to waive the $10 registration fee if you mention my blog.  Try it out for a bit and remember that if its not for you, you can cancel at anytime.

Head on over to Mama Earth Organics right now and check them out.  So much of what we pick up at the grocery store has been modified and sprayed with harsh chemicals which can lead to many diseases and even cancer.  Making the switch to start eating organic and clean is an investment worth making.

Until next time – good eats!
